Meet the artist, music and light bites.
"in music - a moderately slow tempo. A walking pace. Building layers of oil paint takes time, you cannot force it. The work demands that one move at a slower pace. It allows for reflection, but not at the expense of intuition and spontaneity. There is a thread of Shoshin (the Zen concept of beginners mind) that runs through all of my work. It is to approach everything with new eyes, open to a world possibilities." - Liz Zorn
Opening Reception: Friday, May 4th 5:00 - 9:00 pm.
Exhibition to run through Saturday, May 26th.
About the Artist:
Liz Zorn is a multi media artist who lives in Morrow, a small river valley town in Ohio just north of Cincinnati. She began taking classes with H. Willis inIndianapolis after winning a poster contest in the fourth grade. She continued these studies for years before beginning a part time job at her local newspaper at the age of 15. This led to an apprenticeship as a composition artist, followed by several years of working for various newspapers and printers as both a composition and graphic artist. All the while she continued to paint, branching out into printmaking and photography.
After painting for twenty years with gallery representation and a full-time career, Liz decided to explore her love of the olfactory arts and launched her own line of artisan perfumes that led to the internationally known brand SOIVOHLE. Now Liz divides her time between olfactory and visual arts with a focus on mixed media painting.
Liz's work is in many private collections around the world and has been exhibited in both the United States and Europe.
